Ten years ago today, one of the greatest matches in the history of football was played as Liverpool came back from 3-0 down at half-time in the 2005 Champions League final against AC Milan to win 3-2 on penalties.
Goals from Steven Gerrard, Vladimir Smicer and Xabi Alonso saw the Reds come back in Istanbul before goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek turned hero in the shootout. Here, ESPN FC's Liverpool bloggers revisit that day.

Steven Gerrard and Jordon Ibe best for Liverpool on a disastrous day vs. Stoke
Liverpool's players served up a shameful display on the final day of the season as they slumped to an embarrassing 6-1 defeat at Stoke City. The result sees the Reds drop one place to end the season in sixth. Brendan Rodgers had claimed in the build up to Sunday's game that he was "150 percent certain" his job was safe but he may have spoken too soon based on the evidence of this shambolic performance. It looked for all the world that the players had completely quit on him as they incredibly found themselves 5-0 down at half time.
As so often happens in such circumstances, the second half saw an improvement from the humiliated side and an easing off from the team who had the game won. Despite this Liverpool were unable to even "win the second half" as former red Peter Crouch cancelled out a strike from Steven Gerrard on his final appearance for the club.
So a season of disappointment ends with one of the most embarrassing defeats in club history and the team conceding six goals in a league game for the first time in over half a century. Rodgers will surely have a lot of explaining to do when he sits down with the club's owners this week.
