It was quite easy to convince Rafa Benítez of joining Real Madrid, right? Wrong. AS reported what Benítez wants to have under his control during his next season with Los Blancos.
1. Benítez wants to work with his own coaching staff. That means that Real Madrid will not be able to decide Benítez's assistant trainer or the rest of his staff. This makes sense and most clubs around Europe work the same way, but there were reports saying that Real Madrid wanted to bring in some of the best trainers and sign them permanently no matter who the coach was.
2. Benítez wants to decide the club's signings. The Spanish coach wants to be a manager, just like Mourinho during his three-year tenure with Los Blancos. He would not be taking care of the negotiations and some of his targets would not be within Real's reach, but Benítez wants to be in command here, something Carlo Ancelotti never asked for.
3. Valdebebas is Benítez's territory. The whole youth system would be working exactly the way Benítez wants it to work. He would be allowed to make some important changes within the structure in order to build a proper and powerful Academy.
