After their eldest son Josh confessed to molesting underage girls, including several of his sisters, Michelle and Jim Bob sat down with Megyn Kelly on The Kelly File to explain the family's side of the story.
In their first TV interview addressing the controversy, the Duggars talked about how Josh, now 27, came to them at age 14 and admitted to "improperly touching" some of his sisters. For the first time, the couple acknowledged that four of the victims were their daughters, including younger sisters Jill and Jessa, who also spoke to Kelly.
The negative reaction on social media to the Duggars' interview was explosive. Viewers slammed the Duggar parents' defense of their actions, particularly their claim that Josh is not a pedophile because he was too young at the time of his offenses.
Kelly, who previously claimed her interview "will not be a 'gotcha' or an attempt to bring down the Duggars," was also the target of criticism from viewers who thought she went too soft on the parents.
Below are just a few of the negative reactions from Wednesday's interview:
What the hell is the point of interviewing ANYONE if you aren't asking questions that matter? Not asking #Duggars tough questions = stupid

NO ONE is attacking the Duggars religion or faith!!! They are being attacked for their actions, stupidity and hypocrisy. Big difference.
